Q-Tip Rolls into Sundance With New Flick

(XXL.com)

Riding high off his recent Grammy nomination for the best hip-hop album of the year, Q-Tip will be appearing in a new independent movie set to premiere at the 2010 Sundance film festival.

The movie, titled Holly Rollers, is based on the true story of Jews from Brooklyn trafficking ecstasy in the late 90s. Tip plays an Ethiopian drug dealer. Directed by newcomer David Tyler Asch, the film stars Jesse Eisenberg (Adventureland, Zombieland) in the lead role.

Tip hasn’t appeared on the big screen since 2004’s Spike Lee film, She Hate Me. Yet, as previously reported, Michael Rappaport and Nas are currently working on a documentary about his celebrated group, A Tribe Called Quest.

Neither movie has a scheduled release date as of press time. —Max G
