In a day and time where beats and voice machines are the rule rather than the exception, Raphael Saadiq has created a song that reminds you of a time where strong songwriting and lush melodies dominated the charts.
Though the chances "Love that Girl" being played on "Hip Hop and R&B" without a remix are quite slim, Saadiq should be commended for taking a musical chance; Berry Gordy and Smokey Robinson should be very proud of the Oakland native for crafting a song, instead of creating a ringtone hit. --Kevin Lockett
