Election 08: Some Ohioans at McCain-Palin Rally Believes Obama is a Terrorist

This is by far one of the most disturbing videos I have seen in a long time.

Recently, John McCain and Sarah Palin held a rally in Strongsville, Ohio. A guy named Tim who runs the YouTube channel bloggerinterrupted went to the rally and asked some of the attendees a few questions, including if they thought Barack Obama is a terrorist.

To my dismay, there were several people who thought Obama was a terrorist or at least had terrorist leanings.

This video is disturbing, not just because of the pure ignorance of these of people, but the fact that these people are from Ohio. This blog is based in Akron, Ohio and to paraphrase Natalie Maines from the Dixie Chicks, I am embarrassed that these people are from Ohio.

For the past few presidential elections, Ohio has been seen as a red state that has voted for George Bush twice. While the middle and southern parts of Ohio are usually red, Northeast, Ohio where I live is definitely blue.

Akron is a Democratic city as is Cleveland, but you have suburban pockets of Northeast Ohio like Strongsville that at times leans Republican.

Look, if you are a Republican that's fine, but the fact there are people in not just Ohio, but across the U.S. that believes Barack Obama is a Muslim terrorist is sheer stupidity. If Barack Obama was really terrorist, wouldn't the CIA or FBI say: "hey folks, a terrorist is running for president!"
These claims that Obama is a terrorist are not new, but its has been flamed as of late by McCain and Palin who are now asking "Who is The Real Obama?" or questioning his relationship with William Ayres, a Chicago college professor who was a radical back in the 1960s.

This coded form of racism is dangerous because McCain-Palin are only doing this because they are slipping in the polls. However, once the election is over, Sarah Palin will go back shooting moose in Alaska and John McCain will live in one of his many homes and drive his fleet of cars.

However, there will be a segment out there who will still believe the government is being run by a Muslim terrorist, which could lead to more death threats for Obama or worse yet an assassination attempt.

The interesting thing is that Obama seems unfazed by the terrorist continues to reaffirms his ability to stay cool and focused during tense times, which one needs to be a successful leader.

But take a few minutes and watch the video and tell us what you think.
